Q: What types of legal services do you offer?
A: I offer a wide range of services, focused on family-based and employment immigration matters. I also firmly believe that every person deserves access to legal representation and shouldn't be turned away because they cannot afford it. I offer a sliding scale to all prospective clients. Also, due to the virtual nature of the office, I am generally not available for matters that require in-court representation. Please contact me to see if I may be able to assist you!
Q: Are you still going to be doing pro bono work in addition to running the office?
A: Yes, my pro bono project Attorney on the Move will be ongoing. I also have a firm commitment to humanitarian-based immigration and as a result, I am resolved to continue detention and asylum work on a volunteer basis.
Q: Why isn't your organization a registered non-profit or 501(c)(3)?
A: I thought long and hard about this one. But ultimately, my goals with the Virtual Law Office are to provide low fees and operate on low overhead and as little bureaucracy as possible. Remaining a sole proprietor was the best fit to stay in line with these goals.
Q: If I make a donation, is there a fee that is charged?
A: I am currently using ActionNetwork for donations and a 3.9% + $0.30 fee is charged for all transactions (which is deducted out of the lump sum donation). If you prefer sending a check, please contact me and I'd be happy to shoot over my address. Thank you!
